I wrote this for my reading class since our journal asked "What would are perfect world be like?" The maximum word count was 500 but I ended up getting around maybe 1000 and I thought it was the most brilliant piece of literature that I had to post it some where. I'll make a smaller condensed version later.

In my perfect world, I would rid the world of three things; misogyny, equality, terrorism and pollution because I feel that is the world’s three major problems. They are also hit very close to home in my personal life due to past experiences with gender equality, education mishaps, race and illnesses around the world. If we were to justify these four issues, I think the world would be a better place. Most people say they would make things cost less or becoming more healthier would make the world a better place, however I strongly disagree with this argument for two reasons. We cannot make things cost less or else employees cannot make much money to live off of. I mean as much as I hate paying a dollar and twenty five cent extra at the crepe station, I understand why they are making me pay that much. As for staying healthy, I honestly believe it should be up to the person whether or not they want to make that lifestyle change, we shouldn’t judge how others live because it only makes the person feel miserable.

In order to get rid of misogyny, I have came up with a good idea to promote gender equality or feminism taught as young as an elementary schooler. The first problem we have in modern education when it comes to kindergarten up until twelfth grade is the history class since it covers things such as chivalry, which has been dead for quite some time now. Then in the 1950s there was the time that being a stay at home mother while the husband went to work is the new trend. Instead of just teaching them that, why not try teaching them the accomplishments that a woman has done in history? Honestly, I cannot name one single woman in history, besides Joan of Arc, who has done some kind of feminist movement, my mind goes blank. If we teach children this at a young age, I believe there would be less violence against women and other misogynist acts.

The second problem is terrorism, which hits home for me since I am a jewish person. Right now there is a war between Israel and Palestine countries, that is seriously getting out of hand. Palestinian bombers are walking the streets of Israel and even some places in America, where some jews are located. You have to sleep with one eye open in order to feel safe. I wish Palestine would just get over the fact that a tiny piece of land was taken from them. Its not like their entire country was taken away. Another sad part about this issue is in most arab countries, schools teach children how to be mini terrorists. Its sickening. These people could have high hopes of being a doctor or a pilot but instead they are forced into this injustice. In my perfect world, children wouldn’t have to go through that and would follow their dreams.

Next is pollution. I understand I sound like a hippie, but I’m only talking about the oil crisis between America and Iraq since thats where we get our oil from. I once made a joke on facebook saying that in 2080, we will have hover cars that ran on shampoo. But when you really think about it, it could possibly work. Cars don’t really need oil or electricity to run. It could be anything. Sure, shampoo would be high priced on the markets once this occurs, but your car could smell nice and clean and you don’t have to gag at the smell of gasoline. I came up with this idea becuase lets face it, eventually the alliance will end and no more oil will be delivered here and we have to come up with a solution quick.

Lastly is educational equality is the biggest issue I really want to change. Throughout kindergarten up until I graduated high school, I had a terrible learning experience since pacing was so odd. Some kids learned slower than others, and I was one of the slower kids. However when I was put into the slower classrooms, I still didn’t learn anything. I knew a majority of the whole first semester and all the harder stuff was just lengthened to long to the point where I was understanding it, others didn’t. There is a way to fix this problem. Instead of just basing schools just on grades, we put them in different learning styles and levels, that way its at a student's’ pace. I didn’t find this out until I started college and in my perfect world, I would be considered a medium paced visual/auditory learner. If we cleaned up these four issues I have with the world, it would make a better place.
